Cruise Terminal #10

Modifications
Cape Canaveral, Florida

-

This project entailed the addition of a second-story INS office for Homeland Security and a United States Customs Screening Area on the first floor of the terminal.  Extensive heavy marine construction was required including the installation of thirty 3’ diameter by 100’ long steel piles driven through holes cut in the existing wharf for structural support of the building.  Extreme caution was necessary to insure that we did not sever the existing post-tensioned DWIDAG rods running through the wharf.  Marine-grade concrete was required for this project.  An engineered EEFCO formwork system was used to allow the tractor-trailer trucks supplying the cruise ships the ability to operate under and through our construction site.

The project was completed on schedule and without interruption of the regular cruise ship dock preparations.
