The Aeromed Facility is an Air National Guard training site for medical evacuation squadrons. We were tasked to renovate the existing 12,000 square-foot building and to construct an additional 4,000 square-foot building. One building was occupied during construction, which resulted in a three-phase schedule. The project called for extensive demolition, new mechanical, electrical, fire alarm and sprinkler systems, post-tensioned slab, retro-fit standing seam metal roof, temporary HVAC, structural steel, plumbing, transformers, new flooring, and interior finishes. Substandard soil conditions resulted in the post-tensioned slab.
Scheduling was crucial for relocating employees while construction was underway. Numerous unforeseen conditions increased the scope of work, however, C & D partnered with all agencies involved to coordinate work and finished ahead of schedule on this project.
