Lee Wenner Park Improvements

C & D has completed 3 separate improvement projects for the City of Cocoa to Lee Wenner Park , in the heart of Cocoa Village. Lee Wenner park is located on the intercoastal waterway and heavily used for aquatic activities. The projects that C & D has completed include the addition of a new floating 250 foot long T-dock for transient boat mooring, 3 sets of day slips for residents who are visiting the city privately with their personal vessels.

Completed in the Spring of 2022, C & D upgraded the existing boat ramps by installing a cofferdam, dewatering the site, disposing of existing concrete, changing the slope of the ramp to aid in the launching of watercrafts. The new concrete installed was 14 inches thick and composed of a DCI add mixture for corrosion prevention achieving a 5,000-11,000 PSI compression ratio. A heavy V-groove finish was applied to the surface to aid in vehicular traction. 4 new sets of custom aluminum docks were installed on 12 x 12 concrete piles driven to a load bearing of 5,000 pounds.

Under the 2022 contract the marine basin of subaquatic land owned by the city of Cocoa was dredged to an elevation of -7 feet NAV. This was done to improve the water quality and dispose of muck accumulated over the past 50 years.

The relief channel between Whitley Bay Marina and Lee Wenner Park was also demucked as part of the Lee Wenner Park Improvements.
